The website http://www.dankat.com/earls/chap1.htm gives the following:

"Walter Earle(II) of Charborough, Dorset was born in 1586, the son and heir
of Thomas(I). Walter(II) married Ann Dymock, daughter of Sir Francis Dymock
of Warwickshire. They had one son, Thomas(II) who was born in 1621 and two
daughters, Anne who married Norton of County Hampshire and Honor who married
John Gifford of Brighlegh, County Devon and had a son, Arthur Gifford [28].
Walter(II) was knighted in 1616. By his lady he possessed Erdington and
Pipe, County Warwick which he sold to Walter Devereux. He was very active on
behalf of the Parliament forces during the Civil War and was governor of
Dorchester. In 1642 he raised a troop of horse consisting of 60 men. As its
colonel and commander he beseiged Corfe Castle [12,c.9]. He was also made
Lieutenant of the Ordnance in place of Mr. Pym. His only son, Thomas(IV),
died in his father's lifetime and was buried at Axmouth, County Devon. His
estates devolved on his second cousin General Thomas Erle(III) of
Charborough (see below). Walter(II) died in 1665 and is buried at
Charborough. His wife, Ann, died Jan.26, 1653, and is buried in Axmouth,
County Devon."

This information matches the Visitation data given by Nigel Batty-Smith at:
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/nigel.battysm ... I3360.html
who also describes Ann's brother Sir Henry Dymock of Warwickshire.

Does anyone recognise this Dymock branch or can anyone please point me at
another source?
Given their standing, I'm speculating on a possible connection to the
Dymokes of Scrivelsby.

Many thanks
Ian

And the following from PROCAT (at SP46/57/ folio 63):

Papers of Sir William Catesby of Ashby St. Ledgers, co. Northampton
(d.1598), father of Robert Catesby, the conspirator; the
correspondence, seized in 1605, extends from 1552 to 1594, with one
letter of 1514 (ff. 1-67): Memorandum of agreement between Sir William
Catisbie and Henry Dymocke about lands in Erdington, Hodnell and
Stretfielde; if Francis Dymocke deals badly with Henry, Sir William
will aid him in his title in Erdington; [?1581].

And this also from the same source as the last, at MS3889:

FILE - Livery of the manors of Erdington and Pype with lands and
tenements in Erdington, Kerbyes, Wytton, Salteley, Little Bromwich,
Castle Bromwich, Aston juxta Birmingham, Bordesley, Wynesdon Winson
Greene and Hansworth, granted to Walter Earle, knt., and Anne his wife,
which said Anne was heir of Henry Dymocke of Erdington, knt., deceased.
- ref. MS 3889/Acc 1926-008/348012 - date: 10 November 15 Jas I 1617

I can't immediately put my hands on anything about the background of
the brother Sir Francis and Sir Henry Dymock, however. They appear to
have acquired Erdington and Pipe by grant (presumably purchase).
