This lady is presumably some kin of the New England Bradbury family.
Does this source above add anything to the info. about her?

That information is included in "The Ancestry of Thomas Bradbury
(1611-1695) and His Wife Mary (Perkins) Bradbury (1615-1700) of
Salisbury, Massachusetts" by John Brooks Threfall (1988, 1st ed. and
1995, 2nd ed.), p. 20. It cites the Visitation of Essex 1612.

Thanks for checking that.

I've noticed something else that relates to this family in another
pedigree chart. Checking the _Worcestershire Visitation_ for my Colles
family (related to Hawes), I see (p. 41) that Edmond Colles of Leigh,
Worcs., had a son Richard Colles who married "Elizebeth da. of ...
Whitgifte." Does that add anything to the Whitgifts?

Threfall has that on p. 14 as well in his work. She was, in fact, the
mother of Thomas Bradbury, the immigrant. She married Mr. Colles
first, then Francis Gill, then Wymond Bradbury.

Okay, so nothing new there ... (They really liked those Gills, didn't
they?).

I don't suppose the 1623 _Visitation of Gloucestershire_, p. 43
("Cole")--which shows a Margaret Cole marrying a William Hitch--sheds
any light on the identity of Margaret Hitch, wife of William Colles,
found on p. 41 of the _Visitation of Worcestershire_.

http://www.uk-genealogy.org.uk/england/ ... s/p53.html

http://www.uk-genealogy.org.uk/england/ ... index.html

I suppose this is tenuous, but Margaret (Hitch) Colles had a daughter
called Ursula, and that name was popular in the Gloucestershire Cole
family. So we find the names Margaret and Ursula repeated in both
places.

Plus, the Worcestershire Visitation indicates that William Colles's
wife was "Margerett da. of ... Hich of ... in Com. Gloster."

Sounds promising. I descend from Alice (Freeman) (Thompson) Parke too.
I would check the original articles: "Alice (Freeman)(Tompson)
Parke" by Clarence A. Torrey, TAG 13 (1937):1-8 and another article
so entitled by Robert L. Steenrod, TAG 29 (1953):215-8.

Actually, the Hitch-Colles thing would be behind immigrant Edmund
Hawes, but I can see why you thought of Alice Freeman (she was
descended from an Ursula Coles, and had a Gifford line).

Alice's line was from the Coleses of Preston Capes, Northants. Gov.
George1 Wyllys of Connecticut also had a line from that family (making
him a cousin of Alice Freeman-Thompson-Parke). See

Re: the above work.

Would be grateful if someone would care to outline the ancestry of Barbara's
father Matthew Bradbury for say 5 generations.

I've put PDF files of Bradbury in 1612 and 1558 on:

http://www.southfarm.plus.com/visitation/bradbury.html

In view of the above citation to the 1612 entry, you may just find its
content amusing.

As Tim suggested I did find the content amusing. Maybe laughable is a
more adequate description.

I'm interested to know if Threfall's work agrees with the (Bradbury)
content of the following descendant chart.

If someone with the book could let me know I'd be most grateful.
