Hi Michael:

Thank you for your response.

I was hoping that there was some secret rule in latin
that would indicate that an individual was a minor.

I did not study the de Lacy discussion - rather amazed
to understand that a minor was acceptable as a witness
to a document. The rules relating to a ward and livery
at that time suggested that a young ward would not be
considered an adult until attaining the age of 18 -
21. On that basis, it is rather difficult to
understand the logic of accepting a minor in the
witness role of that period.

However in this matter, master Richard is always a
party to the property transaction - not a witness.

The time frame in connection with my query for Robert,
Felicia, and son Richard is as follows:

1295: Robert Bulkylegh married Felicia

1308/25: Robert, Felicia, and son Richard recorded in
many property transaction grants.

1325: Richard married Agnes Chedle.

The marriage dates are probably subject to 2-3 year
adjustment plus or minus. Regardless it would appear
that Richard must have been a minor during the early
years of the property transactions.

Of course if Richard was an adult throughout all the
transactions, I need to reconsider the marriage date
of his parents.

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
