In view of all the discussion on this thread, it would be helpful
to hear from Douglas Richardson whether he still confidently
asserts, as he asserted in MCA, that Beatrix' mother was
Joan Howard, and on what grounds.

As to Beatrix' father, there was lengthy and inconclusive dis-
cussion here in 2002 and 2004 as to whether Peter Brewes
of Wiston was a son of Peter of Tetbury; Douglas seemed
very uncertain on the point. MCA p. 815 confidently asserts
this filiation. Could Douglas share with us his reasons for
coming to that conclusion?

Douglas does mention a record of 1357 that refers to Peter
of Wiston and his nephew Peter, son of Thomas de Brewes,
Knt. Is this the, or a, basis for Douglas' conclusion?

This is the second request today for sources for statements. Surely
any proper training for a genealogist teaches them how to put
references in thier dicuments so that the readers know where to look
for the required confirmation?

Or is there something about some modern style of genealogy that does not
teach this?
