Dear Newsgroup ~

Complete Peerage, 8 (1932): 522 (sub Marmion) shows that Robert
Marmion, 3rd Lord Marmion (died in or before 1360) was succeeded by his
two sisters and co-heirs, Avice Marmion (wife of Sir John de Grey, 1st
Lord Grey of Rotherfield) and Joan Marmion (wife of Sir John de
Bernake).

Avice Marmion in turn was succeeded by her elder son, Sir John de Grey,
who adopted the surname Marmion. He died without issue in 1387 in
Spain. Regarding his marriage, Complete Peerage says only that her
name was Elizabeth St. Quentin. No source is provided to substantiate
his marriage.

The following records confirms that Sir John Marmion's wife Elizabeth
survived him and that she was still living 8 September 1395:

11 September 1392. Sir Richard de Queinton chaplain [presented] to the
church of Tanfield, Yorkshire by Dame Elizab. Marmyon lady of Tanfield
[Reference: Registers of Archdeaconry of Richmond, published in
Yorkshire Archaeological Journal, 25 (1920): 191].

6 September 1395. Sir Richard Barret called de Quynton chaplain
presented to the church of Wath, Yorkshire by Dame Elizab. Marmyon lady
of Tanfield [Reference: Registers of Archdeaconry of Richmond,
published in Yorkshire Archaeological Journal, 25 (1920): 195].

8 September 1395. William de Norton clerk presented to the church of
Tanfield, Yorkshire by Eliz. Marmyon lady of Tanfield [Reference:
Registers of Archdeaconry of Richmond, published in Yorkshire
Archaeological Journal, 25 (1920): 195].

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
