Margarita de Hijar

Is Giraldona Carlino or Margarita de Hijar mother of King Ferrante of Naples?

I looked in the archives and, except for a question in 2000, could find nothing under Margarita de Hijar.

ES Vol II Tafel 66 gives the above choice.

Cahiers de Saint Louis page 661 tells Margarita de Hijar was the mistress of Alfonso V and refers for him to page 693. On that page is not even a mention of Margarita, all it says is that he had three children Ferrante, Maria and Leonor, outside of marriage.

ES Vol III/3 Tafel 551 tells that at Leonor/Eleonore was the daughter of Alfonso V by Giraldona Carlino. Which leaves Ferrante and Maria.

David Williamson in his Kings and Queens of Europe, page 41, simply states Alfonso was succeeded by his illegitimate son, without mentioning a mother.

In one account I found that Alfonso's wife had killed a pregnant mistress in a fit of jealousy.
Orville Prescott in his Princes of the Renaissance page 63, tells "But his heir, Ferrante, was thought to be the son of a court lady named Margaret de Hijar. The queen in a fit of mad jealousy, arranged the murder of Margaret de Hijar."

However ES tells that Margarita de Hijar died in 1458, the same year as Alfonso and his queen.

Can anyone add anything to this?
With many thanks.
