What happened to Holbrook?

I added a couple of posts to the "Holbrook of Holbrook, Suffolk" thread
last night. Now the whole thread has disappeared. Does anyone know
what happened?

It's all still then when I look at it through Google groups.

In answer to your question "What happened to Holbrook?" however, I can
confirm that it is still there: I drove over to Suffolk this afternoon
and had a wander round. The village is small, and rather overwhelmed
by a smart development on its outskirts which is part of the Royal
Hospital School. The church seems to be in good repair, but was locked
due to recent vandalism/burglary - a common problem for rural churches
in the UK - so I could not access it to determine whether there was
anything of interest therein.

I also visited Coggeshall and Halstead (formerly the seat of the
Bourchier family), and have added some photographs online to

(Keep clicking refresh if it doesn't work at first - msn seems to be
very temperamental at present)

Cheers

Well, I am glad it is still there and sorry you couldn't access the
church. Not quite what I mean't, but it will do. I still don't have
the thread coming up for me on the newsgroup or with a Google groups
search. Did you get the additions I posted yesterday? I sent the two
entries from Knights of Edward I. I also found a couple of interesting
items on PROCAT. If you don't have them, I will redo.

Thanks for the pictures. The church is quaint and looks much like the
one in Hulcote, Beds, where my lineal ancestors served as ministers for
500 years. Someday I hope to be able to visit and see it first hand.

The name of the thread appears to have been changed to "Sydney
University Library", but is still there at:

Your 'Knights of Edward I' contributions are very valuable. I plan to
get stuck into Coppinger and some further IPMs this evening, so will
post again shortly.

Cheers

Michael
