I have just found this in the Misc. Inqs. and am having difficulty placing
this Matilda:
#481 Verdict of ten knights of Halikelde. Ranulf de Sules was at the king¹s
mercy for breach of the forest laws; and because he would not pay, the king
took into his own hand 9 librates of land which the said Ranulf held in
Thorneton Cundale, and gave it to Hugh de Newile, who gave them with his
daughter in marriage to Gilbert de Norefolk. Matilda de Morwile gave 15
librates of her dower in Caresthorp to Robert de Veteriponte for leave to
marry whom she would
