women as executrix of will

I have this for the Patent Roll and wonder if the mention of Alice as Co-executrix would probably indicate a relationship to the maker of the will?? Were women usually dong this in 1380.

Nov 27 1380 Northampton: John ravenyngge, for not appearing to render his account to Roger Shrirrve, chaplain, executor of the will of Thomas Seyntalbon, John Echyngham and alice his wife, co-executrix of the said will, for the time when he was receiver of the said Thomas

Would some of you help me interpret this as to maybe the daughter of Sentalbon??

There are many ways they could be related. The most common would be
that Alice was the widow of Thomas Seyntalbon and had remarried to John
Echyngham by 1380. She could also be a sister as well. Daughter is
but one possibility but not the only one.

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping to establish a maiden name.Would
she be a co-ex of will if a widow? If she remarried was the husband
entitled to be named...anyway..the name John Seyntalbon has been hard
to follow with any references. I appreciate your help.
