I have denied or admitting nothing. You jump to conclusions, especially as
the exposure of your own behaviour is not appreciated by you, you hit out at
anyone close to you. Thank goodness I am not one of your relatives.

It's a pity that Leo van de Pas and Peter Stewart can't get their
stories to match each other. Leo denies ever giving Michael Welch's
private e-mail to Peter Stewart. But we see above that Peter freely
admits that he in fact used Michael's private e-mail. I say shame on
both of them. Public is public. Private is private.

If Leo never sent Michael Welch's private e-mail to Peter, then I
wonder what happened? Did the e-mail jump out of Leo's inbox into
Peter's? Next thing they'll be telling us cows jump over the moon!
Now fancy that!

Dear Leo ~

I'm afraid you need to do your explaining to Michael Welch. He is the
one you betrayed, not me. Michael is extremely hurt by what you did.
I feel his pain.

As far as not being one of your relatives, you seem to forget that I
possess a good deal of Dutch ancestry. All things considered, we're
probably related repeatedly through our common Dutch ancestry. So,
yes, I am indeed your relative. But I'm not your Dutch uncle.

Leo cannot be said to have "betrayed" Mike Welch by any stretch of
legitimate imagination - all he did was to repeat a statement that Welch had
made to him: this can be no different in principle from Richardson's
repeating the information (which may of course be equally untrue) that Welch
is "extremely hurt". Why is this not privileged and secret information,
since it can only have beeen transmitted privately?

When establishing blame, where do you look? The finger should be pointed
clearly at the originator of the Turkey story. This episode shows clearly
the danger of indulging in OT stories, especially when it is an invented
one, continually further embroidered upon.

When was Mike Welch betrayed? When he was told a fantasy by Richardson? Or
when I explained to Peter Stewart what Mike Welch believed to be the case?
Mike Welch is caught between loyalty and decency. If he feels betrayed by
me, then decency lost and loyalty to Richarson is his first priority.

Perfectly well said, Leo.

And Welch can surely tell us himself when he resolves his dilemma.

Dear Leo ~

I only have one comment to make. It is what Michael Welch told me
today.

PRIVATE IS PRIVATE. PUBLIC IS PUBLIC.

You betraying Michael has wounded him very deeply. You've caused him a
great deal of pain. Thanks to you, Michael may never post on the
newsgroup again.

You blew it big time, Leo.

What a ludicrous attempt at simultaneous evasion & ventriloquism this is -
now the question must arise again, has Richardson been masquerading also as
Mike Welch?

I am inclined to think there is an actual Mike Welch, but that he has
allowed himself in the past to copy-paste Richardson's words into his own
posts occasionally.

However, pretending that he is a wounded & wilted petal who maybe can't
bring himself to face the consequences of his misinforming Leo, whether
deliberately or not, is yet another bucket of slop thrown over him and the
newsgroup by Richardson.

No amount of repeating the lie is going to make anyone believe that Leo has
"betrayed" Welch.

I have said before that Richardson needs to mend fences, do start with Mike
Welch.

Your own cork must have reacted to the contents of your personal bottle, and
rotted.

You are such an dishonest fool, you accuse me of repeating what I have
been told, and what do you do? Private is Private, Public is Public is
your slogan. The Turkey farce is your PUBLIC story, Michael Welch's
feelings are his PRIVATE message. You revealed his PRIVATE message. What a
hypocrite you are. PRIVATE IS PRIVATE AND PUBLIC IS PUBLIC Is your slogan,
stick to it.

You have been blowing it a big time for a long time. How can anyone have
respect for you as a genealogist and as a person? I called you a brawler,
and that term has been extended by others.........remember? Instead of a
cow jumping over the moon, is your cow flying over the cuckoo's nest?

It's notable that in recent days when Richardson was absent from the list,
scrambling to find inaccurate (and then misapplied) information about Turkey
from travel agents and real estate shills, while Brandon & Hines were too
embarrassed to appear, the mood of the newsgroup lifted.

There were useful exchanges, on-topic, and jovial discussion of odd names,
but no-one fought, no-one was insulted, no-one had to complain about
anything at all. Leo and I were present throughout, having nothing to shame
us away from the forum.

These Three Stooges see each other getting logically & factually trounced on
any & every matter of dispute and carping they raise, and yet each of them
can never see that the same slapstick undoing has happened to himself.

Douglas,
What a lot of UNCTUOUS crap in your first paragraph.

I have stored it in the data to be used for my next book, "He said it
not me!"

I sincerely hope the pain doesn't persist as I hate to think of you crying.
