Michael- thanks for that summary of the article by Ball. Did it say if that was a record written sometime ago or where did the record come from. I guess it was an explanation of the Batisford window? I don't see how the Joan Echyngham marrying Wm Rykhill could be correct. I could see that it could be that she married John Rykhill son of the Wm , justice of the common pleas court. As we know Wm Rykhill was married until 1406 to Rosa with 5 children so no place for this younger Joan. and we have his will and Rosa will too. You stated the article said that the Thomas Echyngham and his two daughters ended the Echyngham line. But we know that is not correct as the Echyngham family out of Barsham, Suffolk continued via Thomas and then even today they are in Ireland under that name. Jane Echyngham married into the Chichester family and to the Earl of Dongeal.. That can be followed. I noticed that Spencer Hall used the same terminology in Echyngam of Echyngham saying the e!
nd of the
Echyngham line. for some reason they lost the Suffolk connection. Again thanks reading and sharing this article.

All I can say it that it was published in 1908, and was not foot-noted.
My impression from a quick glance through the paper was that it was
based, in part, on the heraldic content of the windows, but clearly
other sources were accessed.
