On Leo's great web site here
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.ph ... 4&tree=LEO

we see the entry for Francois Hotman. He had at least three descendents who
came to the Americas, namely:
1) Charles Joseph D'Aillebout, Sieur des Musseaux who died in Quebec 19 Nov
1700
2) Suzanne Jeanne D'Aillebout wife of Abraham Martin, she died in Quebec 15
Jul 1680
3) Louis D'Aillebout, 3rd Governor of New France (Quebec) born 1612 at
Ancy-le-Franc and died 31 May 1660 at Montreal, Quebec

Corrections:
1) Leo shows Francois dying in Bazel, which I think is spelled Basle,
Switzerland
2) Francois' wife was named Claude Aubelin and she died at Montbeliard in 1583
3) Their eldest child, a son, was Jean Hotman, Marquis of Villers-St-Pol who
was born at Geneva, Switzerland in 1552 and died 26 Jan 1636 and was also
secretary in 1588 to [Robert Dudley,] Earl of Leicester. He graduated from
Valence with a law degree before 1568 and graduated from the University of Oxford in
1581.

The source for these corrections is
"Francois Hotman: A Revolutionary's Ordeal", Donald R Kelley, Princeton
University Press, 1973
