In a will by Joan Batisford Brenschle in Kent in 1453, she mentions among others John of Codyng the elder and John of Codying the younger. I have searched Kent and Sussex for a town or manor that could be Codying. I would appreciate any thoughts on this.

Not sure where it was, but in 1546/7 the manor of Codying was one of many
properties granted to Sir Anthony Browne, it would seem it had previously been
held by the Deanery and College of Hastings. See the PRO A2A web site,
