I have asked about information on Joselyn de Hardwicke, and no one has
replied. Someone sent me an smart reply, saying ask William The Conqueror,
now I am serious about finding out about this family. Their Arms are said it
be Shield Argent with Saltaire Engrailed Azure. Three Roses Azure.
Fairbairns Book of Crest describes their crest as a Stag pp Cowerant. on a
Mont Vert.

You have not given a date for your man, but as it happens it does not
matter, as I can only find the general entry in the General Armory,
Hardwick of Hardwick:

Argent a saltire engrailed Azure on a chief of the second 3 cinquefoils
or roses of the first. The crest is the same stag courant.

There is also a variant from Lindley, Leics, from 1512, Gules a saltire
engrailed between four mullets Or quartering Langham of Gopsall.
