LINDON, or LYNDON, AUGUSTINE, Boston, mariner, 1652, by w. Jane had
Samuel, prob. b. Mar. 1653, and both mo. and ch. d. that same mo.; his
w. Elizabeth d. at Charlestown, 29 June 1657, and he m. third w. Dec.
1658, Phebe, wid. of William Franklin, was freem. 1660, and an
ironmonger in 1672 at B. (Savage, Genealogical Dictionary).

The extracted IGI shows a marriage 10 July 1641, at Kenn in Devonshire,
for Augustin Lendon and Jane Wood, which may be the marriage of the
immigrant.

Brenton Simon's forthcoming book, _Witches, Rakes, and Rogues: True
Stories of Scam, Scandal, Murder, and Mayhem in Boston, 1630/1775_ has
a good little chapter on Augustine Lindon's scandalous affair with Ruth
(Crooke) Read of Boston, conducted mainly in England while both were
still married to spouses living in Massachusetts Bay.

Mansfield and Dudley descendants may be interested in Brenton's account
of the irregular doings of two generations of ladies in early Boston,
Sarah (Dudley) (Keayne) Pacy and her daughter Anna (Keayne) (Lane)
Paige.
