Dunbar dilemmas

On August 6 James W. Cummings posted that, with respect to the
mother of Thomas Randolph, Earl of Moray, "it is often denied that
she was daughter of ... Adam de Kilquhar.: I thought it had been
proved by D.W. Hunter Marshall, "The Parentage of Thomas Ran-
dolph, Earl of Moray," _Scottish Notes & Queries_ 3S v. 8 (1930),
that she was a daughter of Adam de Kilconquhar and Margaret,
Countess of Carrick. In a letter to me of 1998 Andrew MacEwen
endorsed that view and opined that her name was almost certainly
Isabel. The Kilconquhar estate descended to the last earls of
Dunbar. CP 4:509.

If any reputable authority has questioned this identification,
I (and I'm sure others) would like to know of it.
