Peckham of Kent

As noted in another thread, the Visitation of Cambridge states that
"Anne" daughter of Thomas Burgoyne of London & Impington (died 1470)
married "Reynold Perkham of Kent". Because Thomas Burgoyne's daughter
Anne is known to have married Richard St George of Hatley St George, I
have wondered whether this Visitation record is muddled.

I note the following from the Ashmolean Museum's Monumental Brass site:

Parish: Wrotham
John Burgoyn 1500 Monumental Brass Kent 7/10
James Pekham, Esq. and wife Margaret (Burgoyn) 1500 Monumental Brass
Kent 7/9
Thomas Peckham, Esq. and wife Dorothy (Horne) 1512 Monumental Brass
Kent 7/8
Reynold Peckham, Esq. to the body of Henry VIII 1525 Monumental Brass
Kent 7/7
James Peckham, Esq. 1532 Monumental Brass Kent 7/6

It would seem therefore that Margaret Burgoyne, another daughter of
Thomas, married James Peckham of Wrotham, Kent. The Peckhams seem to
appear in John Steele Gordon's online charts - I wonder whether he can
shed any further light on this?

(I have no idea who the John Burgoyne of 1500 might be)

James Peckham (husband of Margaret Burgoyne) may be the one of this
name who is said to be great-great-great grandfather of the immigrant
John Peckham (Massachussetts, c1638) - how valid this is, I cannot say.

This would give the Peckhams a descent from Ellen Freville nee Lucy
(and thus - possibly - from the de Lucys, as well as a royal descent,
for instance from the Carolingian Emperor Louis IV via
Lorraine/Louvaine/Boulogne lines).

What is known of the immigrant John Peckham and his ancestry?

Thomas Burgoyne (1405-bef 13 May 1470) of Impington was married twice. His
first wife was Isabel, daughter of Adam Book by whom he was father of John
Burgoyne (1450-1505), Ann (husband -Richard St. George) and Elizabeth
(husband - Thomas Chichele). By his second wife Alice ______, he was father
of a son Thomas of Long Stanton. .I do not have a Margaret listed as
daughter, but certainly this is a possibility. Only the 4 children above are
mentioned in Burgoyne's will per Wedgwood, but he makes Thomas a son of
Isabel too. Alice survived her husband.

Hope this helps.
