You have 2 solutions: 1- is to use the notes and some keywords to
discrimate, or 2- to add more columns to your database or some
automatism in the search engine.
------As the Website data base is someone else's, I am trying to remain

within the rules of it and so keywords is the best way to achieve what I
want.
Keywords is the easy solution when you have no access to code. But
you can "invent" keywords. For example, gatewayaus for Australian
gateways, or ausgate (or pacgate, eastgate, etc.).
------ I an reluctant to play with the word Gateway as it is already an

established term.
Also I feel that people interested in early migrants to America do not want
to see those to Australia and reverse. This is why I think I should have two
different terms. But within those terms I should also try to make obvious
those with and without Royal Ancestors.
It is going to be quite a job establishing those with and without, but in
the end I think it is worth it.

In my opinion it is important to know those royal lines for the simple
reason, as said many times before, that those lines usually are better
recorded and go back much further in time than those other equally important
and interesting lines.
