Any help in translating the following would be greatly appreciated.

"FRANCISCVS WISVS NVPTIS MIHI[?] CROMWELLEIT[?] HUTTON
"SEPTENAQVE OLIM PROLE, BEATVS ERAM.
"ADDICTVS LEGVM STVDIIS, VITAEQVE PROBATAE,
"POST ANNOS MORCOR[?]SEPTVAGINTA SENEX
"OBIJT 5 JUNIJ 1589"

Apologies if my transcription is poor. I appeciate this is a bit late
for this group, but I am hoping it will shed some light on the late
mediaeval ancestry of the Wises.

Francis Wise was of Cherry Hinton, Cambridgeshire (where this monument
remains), and according to the Visitations of 1575/1619 married
"daughter of Hutton of Drayton" and "daughter of Cromwell".

The arms on the monument are Wise impaling Hutton of Dry Drayton. I am
curious to know whether the monument is indicative of two marriages.
Also, am I right in thinking it says he had 14 children ("seven by each
[marriage]") - the Visitations only recording one son, John - my
ancestor.

Thanks, Michael
