Old English Squiggles?

Legg inn av Patricia Jorgensen » 04 aug 2005 06:01:02

I have an odd request: I ordered several copies of early wills (1500-1600's)
from the PRO online and am having trouble deciphering some of the little
squiggles. I took the copy to a print shop and made larger copies, but the
bigger squiggles still taunt me. Is there a website or a book that tells you
how to translate them (like a foreign language?) into current English
writing? I have figured out many of the words, but there are still gaps
where I can only guess the words and some places sound a tad
strange……..Thanks, Pat Jorgensen

You may find some useful resources in the "Links and Bibliography" section
