Thank you Douglas Richardson for the Ripariis
revisions.

I am aware that the name Ripariis means River
thankyou. The reason why I have used a variety of
surnames is simply because the historical records are
worded accordingly. Revier, Reviers, Rivier, Reviere,
Ryvere, Ryvers, Redver, Redvers, Riparis, Ripariis,
and there are no doubt many more. The name Rivers is
rarely if ever used.

Pipe Roll Society:

I do not understand your difficulty tracing these
ancient charters of the Pipe Roll Society. I have the
two texts in front of me. Vol 17 and Vol 33 - all the
charters are in latin taken from Rolls 1 to 20. Edited
by Conway Davies.

Charter 403 addresses gift of Lessnes Abbey, and #404
gift of Manor of Lessnes by Sir Richard de Lucy to St
Trinity London.

By the way there are a number of Feet of Fines period
1199 to 1228 in the County of Kent that apply to the
Lucy family.

Essex Properties.
Your email 29th July applies.

1135-1152 Sir Richard received Chipping Ongar,
Crishall, Roding, and Stanford Rivers etc etc
1153-1154 Willima Count of Bologne confirmed gift.

Where can I find those records?

Presumably Charter 586 (Pipe Rolls Vol 33) applies to
the above gift mentioning forest of Stanford,
Grenested, and Angra 1158. by Sir Richard.

Best wishes, and thank you for your excellent
information

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
