SILL, SYLL, or SCILL, JOHN, Cambridge 1637, brot. from Eng. says the
fam. tradit. w. Joanna, ch. Elizabeth and Joseph; was freem. 2 May
1638, perhaps had other ch. but d. prob. bef. 1653. His wid. had gr. of
ld. 1662; but of her d. the exact date is unkn. yet her will was pro.
in Oct. 1671. Elizabeth m. 28 Oct. 1652, Zechariah Hicks, and d. 12
Sept. 1730. JOSEPH, Cambridge, s. of the preced. b. in Eng. came with
his f. in inf. m. 5 Dec. 1660, Jemima, d. of Andrew

Philip De Gay/Gai

Thank you Charlie McNett for the lead to the Gen-Medieval thread on Wife of
Stephen Gay/Gai. I did the search and read a multitude of mostly confusing
emails. Ok, I get that Philip's parents were Stephen De Gay and Aline
Pipard.

But Charlie mentioned, and I read in one of the threads, that Philip De Gay
is descended from Robert of Gloucester. Who is this Robert of Gloucester.
Could not find a definitive response who mentions exactly who he is.

I must admit, that I have had a humdinger of a headache for the better part
of two days now, so maybe I am not comprehending what I am reading as well
as I should....
