The will of Richard Fogge, father of one of the Whittingham Fogges, is
on A2A ("Archive of the Dyke Family of Frant"). I guess I didn't
notice it, as the last name is spelled "Foggs."

Scope and Content

Richard Foggs of Barham, Kent, gent

1. His body is to be buried in the east chancel of Chilham church, Kent

2. Appoints his wife Mary Foggs his sole executrix, or on her refusal,
his son Whittingham Foggs

3. Bequest of 40s. to the poor of Chilham. Bequest of 40s. to the poor
of Barham

4. Lands called Athertone Dane in Buckland near Dover, Kent, in
occupation of Stephen Morris, his cousin, and messuage and orchard in
Barham Streete in occupation of Edward Baker, are to be sold for
payment of debts

5. Bequeathes £300 to his daughter, Katherin Foggs, at age 24 if she
marries with her mother's or her brother's consent

6. To his eldest son Whittingham Foggs, forge and copyhold lands called
Bramhall in Frant (100 acres). Freehold lands in Frant and Pembury,
Kent [no details]. Lands in Chilham, Kent, in occupation of John
Pilcher. Lease of Sherman Downes in occupation of Richard Mason. Lands
in Buckland, Kent, in occupation of Henry Taylor

7. To his youngest son Ezekias Foggs an annuity of £30 for life out of
lands in Buckland in occupation of Henry Taylor

8. To his son Whittingham Foggs, 2 silver tankards, 1 gilt salt with a
gilt top, 15 silver spoons, 1 great gilt bowl with a gilt cover, and 1
little gilt bowl without a cover. All his law books

9. To his son Ezekias Foggs, 1 little gilt bowl and 6 silver spoons

10. To his daughter, Katherin Foggs, 1 silver bowl given her by her
godfather Mr. Yonge, 3 silver spoons given her by Lady Mar

11. The remainder of the plate and all household goods to his wife Mary
Foggs

12. 40s. to Mr. Ezekias Foggs, brother of RF, and his wife, for
mourning rings of 20s

13. A similar bequest to Dudly Dyggs, kt, and his lady

14. A similar bequest to Christopher Mar, kt, and his lady, sister of
RF
