Dear Jacque ~

Rather than complain about the "bad boys," I suggest you post something
positive yourself and set the example you want others to follow.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah

"...good karma, ... it's ... good for the newsgroup."

My point exactly.

"... everyone else who hangs around here for free information"

Is there another reason for being here?

"... perhaps you can share something of value yourself and see
how it goes"

I've already seen how it goes with others who have shared "something of
value". The fear of having some of you decide, viscously, on the list,
what is "of value" and what is not is the reason I haven't posted in
the past. The blaming tone of your response, as well as that of
several others in the past several days, is enough to keep me from
"sharing" anything in the near future -- whether it's of "value" or
not.

Blessings, peace, and white light to each of you. (My karma is
secure.)

P.S. Why are emails sent to: soc.genealogy.medieval@googlegroups.com
returned as undeliverable?

Dear Rebecca,
Free information? I do not see it that way. Support and assistance yes,
helping when people have sources others need and cannot get hold of. In my
opinion money does not come in to it. If I photocopy pages for you and post
them, it would seem reasonable that you pay the cost or return the favour in
another way.

Why allow the few nasties to spoil everything, why deny yourself the support
of others, or you supporting others? We do learn from each other, we double
check information and try to ignore those few grandstanding
non-contributors. The kill file is a great way of getting rid of unwanted
messages. If you remain silent those nasties win.

Also what these nasties do not realise is, that because of them people also
communicating off-list to avoid those miserable people interfering, as a
result the group misses out. John Brandon at times tries to contribute but
this cannot be said of Spencer Hines. But killfiling those two would be a
good start.
Best wishes
Leo van de Pas
