It's hard to see how this programme would work. Any amateur genealogist
would probably already know how they were related to royalty, if it can
be found. If there is a family tradition of a connection but nobody has
it written down, there must be a high chance of it being debunked (or
just left inconclusive); people would be unhappy about having the
tradition shattered (and would probably still believe in it, even if
the contradictory facts were presented to them). Maybe it is going to
be a further example of the theatre of cruelty, like all these other
reality shows: 'This is the weakest link in the pedigree- goodbye!' A
more interesting exercise would be to DNA-test all Europe's royal
families and everyone who claimed to be illegitimate descendants of
them but with no other evidence, as with 'Anastasia'. Can't see that
happening though- yet...

probably not - the same message but including the name of the company -

Shine - was sent from Federation of Family History Societies. They are
reasonably careful over what they send out

cheers

I am related to Royalty. Interestingly enough, the current Queen of England
and I have a common ancestor who was the grandfather of President George
Washington.
Yes, believe it or not, Queen Elizabeth has as one of her ancestors the
grandfather of George Washington thorugh the Warner line.
The Queen, Queen Elizabeth, is a very fine, patriotic, and honorable lady
whom I admire a great deal.
I am an American citizen and reside in the USA.
I belong to the Sons of the American Revolution;the National Society Sons
and Daughters of the Pilgrims, the Sovereign Colonial Society Americans of
Royal Descent, the Somerset Chapter Magna Charta Barons, the Plantagenet
Society, the Colonial Order of the Crown (descendants of the Emperor
Charlemagne), and The Society of Descendants of Knights of the Most Noble
Order of the Garter.

My real name is not Marcus Aurelius

Dear Listers,
Like so many Persons are, I descend from and am related
to Persons who currently hold sovereign titles. I also descend from
knights, medieval judaic advocates ( the Frowicks), several protestant ministers,
supposed witches, apparently a Papal Legate, sea captains, many farmers,
Loyalists and a number of Men who served in the Colonial Revolutionary forces plus
their long suffering spouses and oh Yes, Men who served under Captain John Paul
Jones whom the British would have hung for piracy had They caught them... that
of course is just the tip of the iceberg.

Sincerely,

Really??? REALLY??? The "..." is "and am related to",
which is common, but "descend from" is a tough one!
