I want to get Doug's book at the pre-publication price.

I've sent him an e-mail but have had no response.

Those who have ordered it -- can you give me the price?

Reply to my e-mail, please.

Thank you,

Birthdate of Henry VIII query

Legg inn av fairthorne » 30 mai 2005 17:11:03

Whilst trying to check / clean up my family tree I came across the following
contradiction

Burke's Guide to the Royal Family, gives the birthdate of Henry VIII as 28
January 1491

However CP Cornwall Vol III page 443 gives 28 June 1491, as does Alison Weir
(but she does use CP)

I wonder if this was a misprint in Burke (his father Henry VII was born on
28 January - coincidence?) - though it saves space the practice of using
only three letter abbreviations for months can be dangerous, one letter
wrong can change the month without detection
It's a bit disturbing since I thought both of these were reasonably reliable

cheers

I think it must be a misprint in Burke's. The new DNB agrees with CP in
making his birthday 28 June.

Dear BarBara ~

Thank you for your good post.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was out of town this
past weekend camping in Nevada. I got back home late last night. This
morning I'm slowly making my way through the large batch of e-mails
about Magna Carta Ancestry which piled up over the weekend. I hope to
get everyone answered before I leave for the NGS Conference in
Nashville, Tennessee tomorrow.

If anyone from the newsgroup is coming to the Nashville conference this
week, be sure to stop by the Heritage Creations booth and say hello.
I'd love to meet you.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
