Catherine wife of Philip ap Ifor

I have seen many sources which claim that she was the daughter of Prince Llewelyn ap Gruffydd (the last native prince of Wales) and Eleanor de Montfort. But other sources claim that LLewelyn and Eleanor's only legitimate child was Gwenllian, who was put in a convent by Edward I.
The fact that so many sources claim Llewelyn as her father and Eleanor as her mother would tempt me to put them as her parents, but I have also seen many accounts that give Gwenllian as their only child.
If I was to accept Catherine as Llewelyn's child, we would have the question of why did Edward I not put her in a convent, as he did with her alleged younger sister. After all that was what he did with all the legitimate children of both Llewelyn and his brother Dafydd, which would ensure the extinction of the house of Gwynedd, without the taint of killing children.
Was Catherine an illegitimate child, or was she the daughter of some other Llewelyn, which might contribute to the confusion, or did she indeed escape the net?

Internet trees are not valid sources.
What other sources do you have that name her as a daughter of Llewelyn ap
Gruffydd
