DNA of the Bruce

There are now two living claimants to the Y chromosome of the Bruce.
And they match 11/12 (12 is all we have as of yet). Better yet,
they share a rare allele at one marker. One is from Shetland.

I didn't think that the Bruce himself had any reasonably
well proven male descendants. His brother Edward is
listed in Genealogics as having plenty (the Earls of Kincardine
and Bruce of Stenhouse, Bt.), and both SP and CP are only mildly
skeptical of the next step, Edward's purported bastard son Thomas.

The DNA person is a descendant of Sir Michael Bruce, of Stenhouse, 6th
Baronet d. 1 Nov 1795 on genealogics.org.

How well thought of is the critical connection between
Carrick and Clackmannan?

We need to get the paper trail of the Shetland person.
