COURCY FAMILY

Greetings all

I have just come across a surprise reference to the Courci family being
involved in a quitclaim of Halsham to the Constables:

http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/documentxs ... esheet=xsl\A2A_com.xsl&keyword=courcy&properties=0601

Papers relating to HALSHAM - ref. DDCC/43

FILE - Quitclaim - ref. DDCC/43/29 - date: 27 Mar. 1358
[from Scope and Content] John Courcy to John le Constable of
Halsham property: manor of Halsham. Witn. John de Fauconberg, John de
Wilton, Peter de Grymesby, John de Beverley and Robert Clerk. Given at
Preston in Holdernesse.

I have been trying to find more about this John Courcy, since the lines
I have information about move them totally out of Yorkshire before this
date - although involvement in the Halsham area would suggest a branch
coming from the time of the Meschin marriage.

Does anyone have any further information or could offer any leads
please?

Thanks

David

I also have references to "Richard de Curcy, William John and Richard
son of the same Richard" appearing in the 1270's in a King's Bench
record in the same area - these names never appear in any Courcy
histories though....
