Dear all,

I've been sent a booklet written by Edward M. Hance who married Mary Amelia
Bennett on 9 December 1875 at St. John's Bedminster, Bristol.

Mary Amelia Bennett is my distant cousin.

Edward Hance' booklet is entitled Notes on the Ancient Cheshire Families of
Bennet of Saughall Massey and Bennett of Barnston, with their Collateral
Branches.

In it, he indicates a line of descent from Edward 1, and I'm curious if it's
correct. Not an ancestral line but down to the Bennetts of the above areas.
There are few dates shown, but I would appreciate any indication of
accuracy.

Edward 1 had issue:

Lady Elizabeth Plantagenet m. Humfrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford &
Essex, had issue:

Eleanor de Bohun m. James Butler, 1st Earl of Ormonde, had issue:

James Butler, 2nd Earl of Ormonde m. Lady Elizabeth D'Acre, had issue:

Thomas Butler had issue Eleanor Butler

Eleanor Butler m. Robert de la Feld of Aylesbury, had issue:

Robert de la Feld of Cordaff & Fieldstown, Co. Dublin, had issue:

Margery de la Feld m. John de la Hide of Drogheda, had issue:

Richard de la Hide, had issue Katherine de la Hide

Katherine de la Hide m. Unknown Bermingham of Corballis, had issue:

Margaret Bermingham m. Bartholomew Ball of Dublin, Mayor in 1554, had issue:

William Ball, Mayor of Dublin 1580, m. Elinor Ussher, had issue:

Robert Ball of Dublin, Alderman m. Jennet Ussher, had issue:

Margaret Ball m. Henry Bennett abt. 1598, had issue Elizabeth Bennett.

Was that the only issue? If so, how did she become ancestress of a bunch of
Bennetts?

to this point http://www.genealogics.org agrees with your line.
However there is no wife nor children listed for this last Thomas Butler.

And I mispoke. I should have said HIS marriage was granted.
At first James' marriage was granted to another person, I can't remember who,
but then to Elizabeth D'arcy's father and I can't recall his name.
