Dear Newsgroup:

Can anyone provide me with a reference for the will of Sir Thomas
Erpingham KG? It's said to have been proved before the Prerogative
Court of Canterbury after his death in 1428; a group of historical
re-enactors, "The Erpyngham Retinue", even quote an extract from it on
their website at http://www.erpyngham-retinue.org.uk/welcome.htm. Yet I
can't find it in DocumentsOnline (or any matching will for anyone named
Thomas between 1427 and 1432), and it apparently is not among Norfolk
Archdeaconry wills or Norwich Consistory Court wills either.

Dear Matthew ~

A full transcript of the will and a short biography of Sir Thomas
Erpingham can be found in the following source:

Register of Henry Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury 1414-1443
(Canterbury & York Soc., vol. 42) (1937): 378-381, 651.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
