OT - My note to Peter Stewart

Legg inn av Leo van de Pas » 30 apr 2005 04:42:38

Dear Peter

In the past, and for longer than I care to remember, I have supported and defended Spencer Hines by pointing out that we should look at _what_ he says, and not at _how_.

Perhaps it is about time to really look at _what_ he says. For too long he has said nothing, nothing of substance let alone contributing. Sneering and snarling at the side lines is all he does, and then most of the time not even about medieval genealogy or history.

I still remember the superb ancestor lists he used to make, then he became frightened by people _stealing_ his information and making money out of it, that person has gone but Spencer has not returned to his contributing mode. I have him kill filed and by looking at the responses to his messages, I do not miss out on much.

Best wishes

Spencer can still be accurate & funny at times in pricking the bubble of
some pretentious message or sloppy thought.

But these times are getting fewer & farther apart as he slides inexorably
deeper into a bombastic slough of his own.

"I have him kill filed and by looking at the responses to his messages,

Amen, Leo. Since I adopted this ploy myself, I find I have thereby
eliminated needless, utterly pointless, and evil-spirited "psychic
noise" from my email life. Who needs it? This person's "contributions"
to my observation are nothing more than vexation of the spirit - without
a hint of any redeeming value. Good and life-enhancing riddance, I say.

I highly recommend this to all.

And in the process, he has richly earned an on-line reputation as a
troll, waiting in the bushes to indiscriminately attack anyone on this
and any other message board.
