The BURLEY Knights of the Garter

I'm confused -

In Manning's "Lives of the Speakers of the House of Commons" (1850) under William Burley, the author states on page 86:

"Sir Simon de Burley and his two brothers, Sir Richard , and Sir John, all Knights of the Garter..."

Then on page 89 he writes:

"Sir Simon's brother, John, was also a Knight of the Garter, and besides his eldest son, William, who was seated at Burley, had two other sons, Richard, an eminent man in his day, Knight of the Garter, Marshall of the Field, and Privy Counsellor to John of Gaunt... and Sir Roger"

Yet, I find only ONE Richard Burley listed among the Knights of the Garter. So was Richard BROTHER of John (and Simon) or SON of John?

In addition, from some posts on the newsgroup - if I am understanding them correctly - there is a belief that these men are in fact NOT ancestors of William Burley, Speaker of the House of Commons?

Help!

Grace Holmes' "The order of the garter" pub Windsor 1984 just has three
KGs: John, KG No 63 who d. 1383, Richard, KG No 71 who d. 1387 and Simon
KG No 69 who d. 1388. She does not give their relationships.
