Ancestry of Jordana, wife of Archambaud de Comborn

Dear friends,

In "La Noblesse du Midi caroligien", Christian Settipani studies the
family of the counts of Périgord. In a note, he tells us about Jordana de
Périgord, wife or Archambaud de Comborn, and said to be the daughter of
Boson IV Grignols.
Does anyone know about the detailed ancestry of Jordana ? How is his
father linked to the counts of Périgord ?
Thanks to those who could answer me.

Christian is pointing out a chronological error in the placement of Jordana
within the family of the counts of Périgord - in 'L'art de vérifier les
dates' she was given as a daughter of Count Boson II, but she belonged to a
later generation & was in fact daughter of Count Boson IV, who is known also
as Boson de Grignols ("Boso comes de Granolio") and his wife Comtorissa.

Jordana married Viscount Archambaud VI of Comborn (some other historians
still call him Archambaud V). As Chrisitan mentioned, we know her family
origin from the chronicle of Geoffroy de Vigeois, where she is described as
"Jordana filia Bosonis Petragoricensis comitis".

Thank you Peter,

As always, you are here to answer my questions appropriately.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to the chronicle of Geoffroy de
Vigeois. Would it be too exagerate to ask you about the ancestry of Boson
IV (just his father and mother, I have the rest of the Périgords'
genealogy) and Comtorissa ?

Boson IV de Grignols was the eldest son of Count Audebert III (see the
tables from Stronski on p. 167 and Smaniotto on p. 168 in Christian's book).

The name of his mother is not recorded as far as I know. She outlived his
father and is mentioned (only as "mater") by Boson acting as count.

His wife is named in the same charter as "Comtorissa" - some historians
thought this was a title & not her name, making her heiress of a comtor
(premier baron), but Stronski pointed out that it was current as a given
name by that time (usually given as Comtors in modern works). Her family too
is unknown, I think.
