Immigrants descended from Aline de Gay, wife of Alan Basset

Dear Newsgroup ~

Below please find a preliminary list of the 17th Century New World
immigrants who are descended from Aline de Gay, wife of Alan Basset
(died 1232), of Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. As all can see, the list
below is simply enormous! Far from being a minor family of little
interest, the Basset family figures prominently in the ancestry of well
over half of the known colonial immigrants with royal/noble ancestry.
And, with a bit more research, doubtless many more names can be added
to the list.

If you're finding this discussion of the Basset and Gay families of
interest, I for one would certainly appreciate your input here on the
newsgroup. What would you like to see discussed next? Lines of
descent, ancestry of Aline and Alan, documentation of generations,
what?

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah

Mike would you be able to specify Margaret of Goushill's ancestry a bit more?
Thanks
