Question re 'Court of Chancery & the Provisions of Oxford (1

Legg inn av Ed » 18 feb 2005 21:51:55

Hello,

In relation to the Court of Chancery (Equity), the Lord Chancellor had
his 'wings clipped' when Henry III was forced to sign the Provisions of
Oxford to give the barons control of the realm. Was this the reason why
the Lord Chancellor was barred from creating new writs or was there an
event that occurred that resulted in a ban on new writs being issued?

Thank you.

Ed.

I don't know, I'm afraid it was before my time.

I had quiche for lunch today, with white wine. Perhaps someone could
cross post this to Sheds since my sig annoys them very much, and they
seem to be unable to deny it.

Well, you've been asked various times to substantiate the claims you make
in the sig, and have failed each time. You also seem no longer to be
responding to my queries to you, despite your complaints that people don't
take you seriously.

I've decided to adopt your evidence for my own .sig, now. I feel my
description is more faithful to this evidence than is yours.

Take care
