Re: GASCOIGNE / NEVILLE/ PERCY Marriages?
Peter:
As a starting point, you might want to consult these sources:
Heraldic Visitation of the Northern Counties in 1530, by Thomas Tonge,
Norroy King of Arms, ed. William Hylton Dyer Longstaffe (Durham
[England]: Frances Le Keux; Surtees Society, vol. 41, 1863), 14-15
[available on Family History Library (FHL), Salt Lake City, microfiche
6,073,323].
Visitations of the North: A Visitation of The North of England circa
1480-1500, ed. Charles Henry Hunter Blair (Durham [England]: Andrews;
Surtees Society, vol. 144, 1930), 28, 151, citing MS. Ashmole 831, ff.
75v, 76r, 79r. [available on Family History Library (FHL), Salt Lake
City, microfiche # 6,073,426].
G. Andrews Moriarity, F.S.A., "A Descent from John of Gaunt: Ancestry
of Edward Carleton," The American Genealogist, 17 (October
1940):105-109 [available on Family History Library (FHL), Salt Lake
City, microfilm #1,425,624].
Joseph Foster, ed., The Visitation of Yorkshire, made in the Years
1584/5 (London, 1875), 384 [available on Family History Library (FHL),
Salt Lake City, microfilm # 0,990,320].
Joan Neville was the daughter of John Neville and Elizabeth Newmarch.
I would strongly suggest you purchase Douglas Richardson's book, The
Plantagenet Ancestry; he did a much fuller treatment on these families,
with source citations.
Best wishes.
