FW: Miles Pitcher's daughters

Legg inn av Richard Anderson » 13 feb 2005 02:31:02

Hello,

Was an answer ever provided for the message below? I ask because of
personal interest resulting from my having an apparent connection to the
same family/families.

If an answer was provided privately [i.e. off-list], I'd appreciate
receiving a copy. I don't have direct access to Bartrum's books where I
live, otherwise I'd be trying to do the research myself. 8-)

Best wishes,

Richard B. Anderson, Jr., Danville, Virginia

Bartrum (1974: "Welsh Genealogies 300 - 1400", volume 2, page 248 labeled
"Drymbenog 7") gives "Joan d. Miles Pitcher" as wife of "Cynharwy ap
Llywelyn" and mother of "Owain".

Meyrick (1846: edition of Dwnn's "Heraldic Visitations of Wales", volume 2,
page 37, footnote 14) gives "Sir William [Walbieffe], married to Jane,
daughter of Sir Miles Pitcher; whose son, Sir John ---".

Neither of these has dates attached, but my very rough estimations would
indicate both "Jane" and "Joan" were born in the 1170s or 1180s. Does
anyone know if these are one and the same "Miles Pitcher". In fact, could
Jane and Joan be the same woman, having had two successive husbands?
