While we are on the subject of consort titles.

I know Victoria's husband was Prince conscort... I am assuming when you are
Queen that the highest you can become as a husband would be a prince.

Also I know Jane was only on the thrown for about 9 days...
(sort of )
But she was married was she not? What were they going to do with her
husband.? and how were they going to title him?... and I am talking Jane
between Queen Elizabeth I and her Sister Bloody Mary .

Dear Betty,
Yes, Lady Jane Grey was married to Lord Guildford Dudley,
4th son of John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland by his wife Jane, daughter of
Edward Guildford, Esq ( see BXP pp 180-81. Also, I believe Felipe II, King of
Spain had to be content with the title King Consort as husband of Queen Mary I
of England.
sincerely,
James

Okay well i suppose Since he was King of Spain already they didn't have a
choice but to make him King Consort of England...... that is interesting...
I had forgotton about him. I bet that did not set well with some of the
powers to be of England...... Naming him King Consort....
Thanks for the info
Betty
