Dear Newsgroup: Would someone with access to Toumanoff's "History of
Christian Caucasia" please look to see if he recorded a wife for
Varaz-Tirots II Bagratuni died around 643 I believe. Thanks Regards
Loren Varga P.S. Would you also mind posting his line for the ancestry
of Vasak Bagratuni father of Ashot the Blind?

Hello,

I only have his _Manuel_, but in response to your questions:

1) Toumanoff shows no wife for Varaz-Tirots II.

2) He gives the following line for Ashot's father (pp. 97-99):

I. Vasak Bagratuni, son of,
II. Smbat V Bagratuni, aspet (r. 645), m. dau. of Manuel Arshakuni, son
of,
III. Varaz-Tirots II Bagratuni, aspet, viceroy of Armenia, curopalates
(r. 616/17-645), son of,
IV. Smbat IV "the Very Victorious" Bagratuni, aspet, viceroy of
Hyrcania (r. ante 595-616/17), son of,
V. Manuel Bagratuni, son of,
VI. Varaz-Tirots Bagratuni.

The lines are only dotted before generation six.

This agrees with the information on these people in Toumanoff's _Les
Dynasties de la Caucasie Chrétienne_ (Roma, 1990); he has no further
genealogical data on them.
