Line of Joan FitzHugh, wife of William FitzRalph, Baron GREY

Hello, all :)

For the last couple of days, I have been scanning the 'net for information on the line
of FitzRALPH, Lords and Barons of GREYSTOKE (becausee I'm stuck in Houston and can't
readily make it to any libraries), and I have come across the marriage of William FitzHUGH
of GREYSTOKE to a Joan FitzHUGH, daughter of Henry (or Hugh) FitzHUGH.

The FitzHUGH family I can find to an "Abaris fitzBARDOLPH of RAVENSWORTH.
However... it is the next generation down, BARDOLPH of RAVENSWORTH (or BARDOLPH,
son of THORFINN), where I find a roadblock.. or fork!

BARDOLPH "of Ravensworth" is traced back to Conan 1, "le Torte", Duke of Brittany:

BARDOLPH "son of Thorfinn (Sigurdsson)" is traced back to Kenneth MacALPIN.

My question is: how much evidence, and what kind of evidence, is there behind each
claim-of-descent? Or, is each descent just wishful thinking ?

Thank you for any help:

Without the details of the line you have found, it is difficult to say
but certainly there is a line from some FitzHughs to Conan of Brittany.
Have a look a Leo van de Pas's site on:

http://www.genealogics.org

which has the remarkable difference of references to show that he has
evidence for his exhaustive collection.
