Volume 3 of the Red Book of the Exchequor edited by
Hubert Hall contains the King's writ giving Sections
1-49 of the ordinance issued by the Exchequor 1326,
1327, and 1329 titled " De Ordinatione Scaecari annai
xvi, xvii, and xix Edwardi Secundi.

Examination of Sections 1-49 reveals a thorough
description of the administration, procedures,
recording, and collection of Fee Farm debts and other
debts due to the King.

It is thought provoking that these rules issued
through Edward II were probably far more significant
to the lives of his subjects than any clause in the
Magna Charta which possessed little real significance
at that time.

Although no doubt the ancestor of the modern tax code
system, it was quite equitable whilst its modern
counterpart is a classic example of inequity and
planned deliberate confusion of regulations.

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
