Oh I agree Doug, but you have to admit that if every person who "couldn't
quite make the two hundred year leap" from 1800 to 1600 were allowed to post
indiscriminately to this list, then this list would cease being Medieval.
I have quite a few lines that could possibly easily lead to medieval
ancestors. Why just the other day I uncovered a NEW Stewart/Stuart line in a part
of Arkansas that I've been researching. Searching the usual suspects
(Familysearch.org, Ancestry.com, Gencircles.com) it appears that no one has yet
researched this family. They MIGHT just be the hereditary heirs of the Kingdom of
Scotland !!!!
In fact I'm sure of it. I think I'll write a book connecting them (on
purely onomastic grounds of course) back to some famous royal figure who
allegedly died without issue. (I'll throw in an unsourced quote that some person
"burned all the records" and so on). I'll be sure to provide no sources for
obscure connections, since I wouldn't want to upset the genealogical apple-cart and
all.
