Multiple Births

Legg inn av Charani » 09 jan 2005 11:57:32

Crossposted to soc.history.medieval where a discussion of the subject
is taking place.

What was the medieval view of twin/multiple births??

Were they treated with suspicion?? Thought to be the work of the
devil?? Witchcraaft?? A result of adultery??

How would the mother have been regarded?? As a witch or as fortunate
or unfortunate??

What was the view from a dynastic or inheritance point of view??

Please don't cross-post: it just gets irrelevant material on our
newsgroup from people who have no interest in medieval genealogy.

But by all means parallel post: send two separate posts, one to each
group if you think the posting is relevent to both groups.

Cross-post deleted in this reply.

In this instance it would *not* have brought any irrelevant material
onto your newsgroup. The whole point of crossposting in this instance
- which incidentally is not something I would normally do - was to
because the comments with regard to multiple births would have been of
interest to the medieval history group.

There is already an ongoing discussion about multiple births taking
place in the history group and they mentioned this group as a possible
source of further comment of interest.

A post in there and a completely separate unlinked post in here would
have been pointless to the discussion.

I'm sorry I posted here, and that this group has no interest in
further discussions in medieval subjects if they are not directly
about genealogy.

I'm subbed to this group because I'm seeking information for myself on
a different matter. It seems that I'll get more help from the regular
genealogical groups and the medieval history group than I will here.

My apologies for sullying your door.

Goodbye
