FitzWilliam and Metham or Grey

The family of FitzWilliam of Emley and Sprotborough appears frequently in the archives of Gen-Med and SGM. But I don't see a resolution to one particular question - which is raised again by the newly published RPA.

Sir William FitzThomas of Emley and Sprotborough (d. ca. 1294) mar. Agnes, variously said to be dau. of either Sir John Metham or Sir Richard Grey of Codnor. There appears to be only secondary evidence (particularly visitation pedigrees and heraldic evidence) for either possible parentage for Agnes, and I wonder if the possibility of two wives for Sir William has been ruled out.

RPA says that the wife was Agnes Grey (although - somewhat unusually for RPA - it does say that some sources say she was Agnes Metham). Did I miss something? Has Agnes' parentage been conclusively determined, or is there still a question on this matter? [a not insignificant point since she is ancestral to many, many familes of interest]
