Apparently Capt. Thomas Breedon was a relation of the Winthrops--

Robert C. Black, _The Younger John Winthrop_ (Columbia U.P., 1966), p.
399:

"For Breedon, see Andrews [_The Colonial Period of American History_],
I, 461n, 514, and II, 63n. He appears to have been a distant 'kinsman'
of JWJ [John Winthrop, Jr.]; see JWJ to Breeden, July 4, 1664, copy in
ms. Win. Paps., 5.186, Mass. Hist. Soc."

Capt. Breedon's father, the Rev. Zacheus Breedon, seems to have been
the author of a 1649 pamphlet, _The humble advice and earnest desires
of certain well-affected ministers, lecturers of Banbury ... and of
Brackly ... to ... Thomas Lord Fairfax ... and to the General Councell
of Warre. Presented January 25, 1649 ... Also, A letter to the ...
ministers of the Gospell within ... London _ (London: James Cranford,
1649). Apparently the letter was signed "Zach. Breedon," so the
pamphlet has sometimes been assigned "Zachariah [sic] Breedon" as an
author (see OCLC).
