Here are some additional suggestions for corrections in the
new Oxford DNB:

1. "Henry Bourchier, first earl of Essex." Humphrey, Lord
Cromwell, is called the earl's "son and heir apparent," which
as a younger son he never was. The earl's heir was his son
Sir William Bourchier, styled Viscount or Lord Bourchier, and
after his death v.p. William's son Henry, who (as the article
later says) succeeded as 2d earl of Essex.

2. "James Fiennes, first Baron Saye and Sele." His wife,
Emeline, is stated to have died in 1453. According to CP 11:482
she died Jan. 5, 1451/2.

3. "Anne of Woodstock, countess of Stafford." Is it really
correct to call her that? She was not born at Woodstock; her
father was. Were such designations really used in this way as
hereditary surnames? (Another example: "Margaret of Brother-
ton," duchess of Norfolk).

4. "Savage family." I question the statement that "John (III)
[Savage] died on 29 July 1463, aged fifty-three, leaving John,
his [son and] heir, aged forty and more."
