Sir John de Lovetot of Wysall, co. Nottingham, Justice of the King's Bench
1234 - Nov. 5, 1294. He was the father of two children:

1. Sir John de Lovetot of Wysall, co. Nottingham who married as his second
wife after 1284 Joan, widow of Bartholomew Brinson of Aveley, co. Essex. He
accused Walter de Langton, Bishop of Coventry in 1301 of various crimes including
adultery with his wife and being in league with the devil. Langton was
summoned to Rome and appeared before Pope Boniface VIII and it was not until 1304
that he was found innocent of the charges and acquitted.

2. Alianora de Lovetot who married William le Moyne [Moigne] of Great Ravely,
co. Huntingdon.

PRO E 40/1287
Grant by William le Moyne, to William, his son, and Alianora, daughter of Sir
John de Luvetot, and their children, of his manors of Sawtre and Roweye, with
remainder to another son, Hugh, and reversion to himself and his heirs
successively; at a yearly rent of 30l. Witnesses:- Sirs John Russel, Richard de
Beynvill, Philip de Rypton, and Robert de Beaumes, knights, Ranulph de Clerevaus,
and others (named): [Hunt.]

Can anyone shed any light on this family?
