I am wondering if anyone has heard of this man or
family. I found his arms in a Heraldry book and they
match one I am researching. C Smith

There are more than one William, given that the name is also Blunt,
Blount, etc. Which one did you mean?

Was skimming RERUM BRITANNICARUM MEDII AEVI SCRIPTORES (Rolls Series) V. 79
PT. 1 Da 25 .B5 1858a and noticed some names I'd seen on the list recently
so thought I'd post the entries that are ca 1250AD:

Abbas Willelmo Noreys concessit.]

My pathetic translation:

Cristina of Grenam, Ralph Touche and Alicia Scot hold one portion of a hide
and acquire the same way as the aforementioned Richard. [and then holds the
hides for someone else; certainly Richard Ulf held two hides of land, for
whom he gave protection to Simon of two gold coins ... -> very loose
translation: always the land had been held by Simon got the land
relinquished by Ramsey Abbot William Noreys. -- Any corrections
appreciated.]

Broughtone

pg 339: Ricardus Piscator et Johnnnes Pincerna tenent unam virgatam, et
faciunt sicut praedictus Thomas.

and

Aylyngtone:

Page 488: Galfridum Blundes --

domini, praeter Ricardum Prodome, Henricum Franc', Galfridum Blundes,
Henricum le Mouner.

The books go back to the library next week so if anyone wants a follow up on
this information let me know. ;-)

Best,
Ginny

IRAN STILL HOLDING BRITISH BOATS. Brigadier General Mirfeisal
Baqerzadeh, head of the Foundation for the Safeguard and Promotion of
the Holy Defense Values, said on 31 January that three vessels seized
from the U.K. Navy in June may be placed in a museum, Fars News
Agency reported. He explained that anything seized during a conflict
or during military operations must be submitted to the war museum. He
added, "The boats left behind by the intruding British troops should
not be returned to them because they are considered as war booty in
accordance with the law." Tehran seized three British patrol boats
and held their crews for several days after they were alleged to have
entered Iranian territorial waters along the Shatt Al-Arab. After the
crew's release, London said the vessels were forcibly escorted into
Iranian waters before being seized (see "RFE/RL Iran Report," 28 June
and 5 July 2004). First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral
Sir Alan West said in the 24 January "Al-Sharq al-Awsat" that the
United Kingdom and Iran are not at war and, "We want the boats back."
Islamic Revolution Guards Corps spokesman Masud Jazayeri said on 26
January in response that return of the boats depends on Britain's
fulfillment of unspecified promises, Mehr News Agency reported.
