Jesus, his brother, and his nephew

More food for thought! This time about Jesus' family.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that many now think the Archko
Volume is a hoax. It is claimed by the "translators" that the
documents came from Vatican records and such.

On the other hand I'll mention some other interesting evidence for
Jesus and his family that some may not be familiar with.

First, the ossuary of James, the brother of Jesus, and son of Joseph.
You can see some pictures of it here
http://campus.kcc.edu/faculty/jwineland ... suary.html
another great site is
http://www.rom.on.ca/ossuary/

James was named as heir to Jesus in records such as the Gospel of
Thomas and indeed succeeded as Bishop of Jerusalem, which office was
the original head of the Nazarene/Ebonite Church. The Bishop of Rome
wasn't a factor until years later. His brother James apparently also
acted as High Priest since he was allowed in the Temple according to
early sources.

Wouldn't James have had to be a Levite in order to be a Priest? By the
Genealogies given in the New Testament, he wasn't if he was the son of
Joseph.

the ossuary of James has been shown to be a forgery.

You don't have to be a High Priest to go into the Temple however. Only to go into the Holy of Holies.

What part do you suppose Mary Magdalene played in Jesus's life?

Best wishes,

That's a heavily debated issue in current times. I'll just state a
couple facts. The Ebionites/Nazarenes believed that Jesus was the
flesh and blood son of Joseph and Mary. It was expected at that time
for people to be married and married young, especially rabbis, which
is how Jesus was addressed. Mary Magdalene wasn't a whore, it is only
a late Catholic tradition that makes her the prostitute whose life
Jesus saved, which arguably was created to demean her. But if Jesus
had children, wouldn't they have had the priority over his brother
James who became Bishop and his children?

And False.

But if Jesus

You make statements that sound like facts when really they are opinions.
Shouldn't you label all these undocumentable claims as your "opinion" ?

Once again your ignorance is on display. Remember, better to be silent
and thought a fool than to speak and prove it.

You obviously know nothing about Jewish law and tradition regarding
marriage. A quick look here
http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view. ... h=marriage
will quickly show you that "Eighteen years is the age set by the
Rabbis (Ab. v. 24); and any one remaining unmarried after his
twentieth year is said to be cursed by God Himself".

It was also a law that all rabbis had to be married, it's just a fact,
like it or lump it.

The second and third comments are self evident and need no further
explaining. You're just being dumb.

I can't believe you actually think you understand the fundamentals let alone the more complex issues of the Oral Law. Obviously you can't comprehend that this law was only set down AFTER Jesus had lived and died. Maybe you should stop trying to cut-and-paste off websites that have no sense, and go back to theological school. Maybe Religion A01 would be good for you.
